Ice Storm by the River (test post apologies)

There was an ice storm earlier in the week. Well, not exactly an ice storm. It was cold. It snowed. Then it started to rain. It was warming up slowly, but the rain still froze on each surface it touched.

Snow Days

I’ve been up at dawn each day this month. Well, actually before dawn. Enough before dawn to watch the sky go from night blackness through that dim blue into a brief riot of colour as the sun launches into day.

Head O’ The Trent

This last weekend was Head of the Trent. An event that most of Peterborough associates with copious drinking and obnoxious student behaviour. However, it is actually a rowing regatta. And although last Saturday threatened rain, the weather was lovely.

Seeds in Winter

Last weekend was Seedy Sunday. Jill Bishop is the mastermind of this great event. She and Peter Hughes (both pictured above) help co-ordinate The Peterborough Community Garden Network. Jill also runs the Wednesday Farmers’ Market in downtown Peterborough.
